Dense fog meandering around the conurbations,
Body in the blanket; feeling cold sensations,
Oh man! 5 seems an early one,
If it'd have been summer; roads be full of joggers ton
Winter Buddy becoming dominant over my schedule,
Mom! It's only 7; Am not fool!
Although, sleep seems as sweet as sugar
Making us a professional 'job-skipper'
Indolence might be the winter's best buddy,
Body declines to go out while our mind declines to study!
Days are short and the nights are long;
Days becoming more short by sleeping all along.
We think about summers in the winters,
And, winters in the summers forsooth,
Verily, the dilemma is in our mind!
Which rings old age in the youth
Influence your mind instead being influenced by the winter,
After all, it's not a freezer!
Absorb the sunrays in lieu of fog,
C'mon man! learn something from the sedulous stray dog!
Ensuingly, summers will come and the winters will go,
Rather it depends upon you,
Either show your flair or let it go;
Nevertheless, the seasons will come and go!
The boulevard to a fragrant future marries a maze
Laced like a spider web in a haze of a daze
Perceived like a mirage on an acrid afternoon
Blinding a parrot who can no longer croon.
The future fixes its secrets in God’s mind
Where folks despite multiple intelligences remain blind
However hard they forge ahead
As on stout walls they bang their head.
Brains build machines and invent technologies
But fall short of unlocking the future despite eloquent eulogies
For great minds who endeavored to understand
Secrets hidden in the future’s brand and hand.
Frustrated and deflated folks take to libations
To quench the thirst of defeat in conurbations
Where in droves they build a metropolis
Hoping to unlock the future with a bouquet of bliss.
The big debate : “What is a city ?” –
A town created by a charter
And often with cathedral church
But sometimes with an ancient abbey.
St David's, Pembroke is the smallest,
Just twelve hundred citizens
And London is by far the largest,
Populous eight million plus.
Many sprawling conurbations
Are the backbone of our nation :
There's Leeds and London, Bath and Bristol,
Canterbury, Sheffield, Hull;
Then Cardiff, Glasgow, Edinburgh,
Norwich, Wells and Peterborough,
Oxford, Cambridge, Manchester,
Swansea, Truro, Chichester,
Worcester, Portsmouth, York and Belfast,
Carlisle, Chelmsford, Perth.
In cities there is entertainment
With cinema and theatre too,
Museum, gallery and concert hall –
A cultured way of relaxation.
A city has a green side too
With parks and gardens to explore,
Pedestrian precincts help us shop
Away from traffic noise and fumes.
I recommend a city visit,
So many secrets are in store.
Leave your car outside the ring-road,
Hop on a bus to start your tour.
