Hawaiian Winter - WS

Snow trace e'er so oft
Soloist compacts barely
Do salt waves surge teasingly?

Surf and sand hulas
Sun melts away mini-me
So snowman bid Aloha?

Premium Member On the 'United' In the United States

I've often thought about the glue
  that binds fifty states together
What exactly is it substance
How does it adhere and accrue

There are no treaties, no compacts
  between and among individual states
What binds them to each other, to produce
not Ohioans and Oregonians, but Americans

I don't think it's the bold brave words
  Words like Freedom, Liberty, Democracy
For each and every person's conception
is filtered through his background and perception

Rather, it's our Constitution, the Rule of Law, that binds us all
Native-born, Immigrants, Young and Old, Average, Short and Tall

Jalopy

Jalopy

J unkyard treasure discovered under a pile of worn tires held together with bailing wire duct tape and faith.

A ntique veteran of time traveled back roads before the miles of asphalt Interstate highways were laid still refusing to retire

L and yacht Titanic once admired by wanting eyes viewed now with glares seeing only your wounds of wear unnoticed is your loyal service

O pulent commander surrendering right of way to compacts and sportscars with reputations of low gas milage performance

P ile of sun tortured rusted metal past resurrection of a Simoniz massage to restore the brillance you once shined when your paint glimmered color

Y our perservance I rewarded with my grin of appreciation everytime the key turned in the ignition sparking life into your forever engine delivering me to another destination.
.
Jalopy my first car introduced me to street freedom a magic carpet with four wheels three on the tree my ride I'd drive with pride in my youth
Jalopy we journeyed teenaged smiling miles together never will I forget open roads with speed that beat the racing wind cruising just me and you Cruising just me and you.

The Thingymajigger-Whooslewhatsit

it carries the baby
it cleans up the tub
it does all your homework
and gives great foot rubs

It takes out the trash
it can be a TV
it can play all your music
like a big mp3

it can be your best friend
yes, it can do all that
it can take all your garbage
and make it a hat!

it flips 20 pancakes
and cooks 50 whole meals
its a metal detector
with interchangeable wheels

it's a doctor, a lawyer,
and even a yacht
its a cell phone, an ipod
one must have robot!

it is nonalergenic
it's even a pet
there isn't a thing
that this robot cant get

it compacts as well
it can get pretty small
it can fit in your pocket
or stand very tall

it's durable also
you can toss it from high
and watch it bounce back
in the blink of an eye

it's the thing of the future
it's the thing of today
it can travel through time
back to yesterday

it's a language translator
its a toilet too
it wipes up your butt
after you make number two

it's a wallet and airplane
an instrument too
there isn't a thing
that this robot can't do!

Weak

Trapped in a dark place
Inside herself
Tormented by her failures
Destroyed by her mistakes
She bottles it up
Keeps it from the world
Compacts it and stores it in the smallest part of her heart
Until her heart becomes weak
From the blows it must take
And the baggage it must hold
When none of it is told
She cries at night
Tears stain her pillow
Her parents don’t understand
She feels lost and afraid
I try to help
But she drifts away

Blue Bottle On the Left

Trapped, in the blue perfume bottle over the sink,
is the first time I met you.
It sits there in scent with nothing to prove.
No longer made, these moments.
You could maybe import them from France,
or Germany, but you'd be taking a chance at a replica.
First encounters are too precious not to be bottled,
don't you think?
For in that moment, the air grows heavy
It clings to freshly washed hair and wrists of pheromones
It solidifies, compacts the pressure 'till eyes meet
and looks of guarded wonder are exchanged.
Compliments trade air and remain to be plucked and
garnished behind ears of victors.
The first time I met you,
we sat inches apart and yet I felt your very touch
Electric scent to be bottled right then and there.
But what if you don't know it when you feel, sense,
see it?
Will you lose it?
Perhaps.
But I've always been on the look out for a new memory.
Your's was just waiting to be bottled, blue and glass
Less a replica then any other I've encountered
never to turn sour at the wrists or wane
but forever yet, encapsulated, bottled to remain.
