Sassy Cat.
I didn't want to scare you
didn't want to cause a fright
but if you creep around the house
please put on the light.
You know it's hard to see me
in the darkness of night.
It's my pure black tail you stand on
giving me such a fright.
You know my place for sleeping
is on your fireside mat.
Do you forget I'm sleeping here
from Sassy your black cat.
You scream and wake up all the house
giving everyone a scare.
Then you shout, "Sassy where are you,
Sassy are you there?"
Yes "MEOW" comes my reply
still in a state of fright.
It doesn't happen now and then.
No! Meow, it happens every night.
Can't Catch Me
field Mouse
did rouse
house cat
fell flat
took chase
fast race
small space
broke vase
smirk tease
took cheese

Scary Cat.
There's a huzzle in the trees, there's a huzzle in the trees.
What can it be?
Go look, go see
the huzzle in the trees
Is it tall, is it small?
Is anything there at all?
If it is do give a call
do you need my help?
Is it friend or is it foe?
If it bites just yelp.
Now see here you scared cat
there's nothing to see but trees
the huzzle buzzle that you hear
is just a soft warm breeze.
It's not much good you'd be
if I needed thee, if I were indeed to call.
It's just as well there's nothing to tell
As there's nothing there at all.
Kittens become cats
Darling children
Can be brats—
Well-built husbands
Become fats—
And wives?
I’m no fool:)
