Wildlife 9
An amazingly ugly gnu,
Once stopped on the plains for a poo,
A lion went past
And was almost aghast
So he ran off whilst yelling "Ker....phew"!...

Wildlife 39
Wildlife 39

A rampant and agile young filly,
Was blatantly acting quite silly,
A young colt cried "Neigh!"
"Now just stay away!"
"And get your hoof off of my willie!!"...

Premium Member MORE WILDLIFE MADE HOMELESS
We see but grey where once was green
As bulldozers now scrape,
Turning a joyful rural scene
Into joyless landscape.

The area was green-belt land
With forest and pasture
But as our numbers still expand
We will invade nature.

And so that farmland must give way
To high profit housing....

Wildlife Surprise
An angry squawking sound outside
Disturbed the rural peace.
I thought some crazy bird was perched,
His cry a mad release.

Instead, I stared a squirrel down;
His tail was all a'twitch
As he emitted clucking sounds
At quite a fevered pitch.

Between each dozen chirrups,
He let out a plaintive moan.
The message, loud...

Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife
October,

Time when jellyfish
Wash ashore
Cover beaches in
Rotted goo.

Count the numbers
In blue ballpoint
Mark the map
in red.

Right, left
Booted squelch
Sand and guts
Dropped the clipboard.

Running ink,
Sticky slime
Wunderbar wrapper
Clings to the page.

Telephone the department
Need another day
To get the numbers
Info lost in kidney juice.

“Got to do it now”
Before gulls,
Tide comes in,...

Winds and Wildlife
Creatures

winds and wildlife
giving the evolution time
creatures big and small
are appalled
but are so tall
to evolve and resolve
the call
the lakes and mountains
raise little fountains
spitting out the unknown
thrown to the highest place
the ice lenders
and the pretenders
depend on the mist
the mighty fist hits the grasses
the sun brightly glares
the stormy...

''Wildlife Training''
Little helper of fur, take your kitty under your wing.
He was lost,now is found.
Broken leg took off the ground.
Nestled embrace.
Kitty carried to the door.
Exercise complete.
We train no more.

Wildlife
Wrote this about the inhumanity of man and corporate progress.

The mowing was stopped by the frog on the hop
The frog in the grass, so the mowing did stop
The privets well, they just grew and grew
I don't break birds eggs and no chicks do I kill
The...

In the valley of tall golden fire, I rest

listening to the sound of the earth heartbeat.

Africa's eastern breath presses its cheek against mine

as I bask and savor the exotic serene moment.

I listen and watch at the tapestry of wildlife gather,

a...

Spring sneaks through our path in the wake of
hints still left from winter. Snow white pillows have been shoved
and scattered. Timeless treasures of floral engagement blooms,
earthy perfume plants still entering into our world.

Twill nightfall's and an ocean of abstract wildlife
settle for the night or feed...

Under the spell of Autumn and twilight
we encounter a pair of deer

their delicate forms
in soft shades of grey
poised for flight
a still life

We linger, transfixed until instinct
overtakes, and they flee.

All we take is a memory....

Thoughts On a Spanish Mountainside
Grey cotton wool clouds enfold the mountain tops,
Creeping forward like an army on the move.
Now and then, dropping their wet cargo
On vegetation, withered from long months of sun.
Gusts of wind carry fragments of birdsong,
Rejoicing in the rain, singing their hearts out,
Snippets of melodies, tunes incomplete...

By the Side of the Road
I lie dead and broken and crushed by the road
and the crows make a meal of my eyes
I no longer wander the trails in the bush
there's no one who mourns me or cries

And all who pass by are repulsed by the sight
and the smell that...
