Best Haring Poems
A little gal from India I hope you all have met.
Nonetheless, please meet her soon if you haven’t yet!
A mother, poetess, and wife - she came to Soup one day.
Now it’s been a bit more than a year.
Growing her talent, she is here to stay,
Earning the respect of every poet peer.
Lovingly she labors to create her art.
Anitha is the name of this poetess.
Many are her attributes. She gives her heart,
Offering kind remarks – our souls to bless.
Naturally friendly and wise is she -
Gifted, gracious, generous and good.
Unending may my bond with “Ani” be,
Sharing in the fruits of a sweet sisterhood.

These all are just my thinking,
my thinking is free
on my path
but poetry is poetry,
more than any thinking, many more;
on its path
Poetry is independent fully

"Poetry is a life-cherishing force. For poems are not words, after all, but fires for the cold, ropes let down to the lost, something as necessary as bread in the pockets of the hungry."
— Mary Oliver
double acrostic
Poetry shakes me, wakes me up.
Other poets open my mind to
Endless layers of reality and enable
Me to thrive in this special realm.
Sharing through poetry helps
Me know myself and others better. When I’m
Yearning to describe honestly my
Mindsets, whether stormy or calm,
I find that reading poetry provides stimuli,
Readies me for each expressive endeavor,
Reminding me that poetry is like a mirror,
Offering the reflection of one who
Realizes words possess inestimable power
Such potential for enhancing our lives!

My love, my heart, my soul is my gift to you
Your smile, your love is the only reward I would want
Precious, like a gem made by angels to shine forever
Releasing the passion inside me that burns for you
Intertwining our destinies, so that we two soul mates
Now and forever, can live out our hopes and dreams
Creating our own bond of life, to overcome the challenges
Explore the mysteries, and to enjoy life as it should be
Sharing the peace and love, that everyone looks for
So in the end I want nothing, because I have everything I need
When it all came down I lost my mind
Bit by bit I became hard to find
But like a phoenix from the ashes I rise
I'm proud to say I survived
These past 8 months were trying times
I sat in bed and wrote these rhymes
I never knew what was coming next
What was yet to happen was anyone's guess
I went to the nut house twice in all
To be sane again was all I lived for
On my darkness days I made plans
I wanted to go and meet the “big boss man”
Everyone around me suffered too
Little by little they all knew
Knew my darkest secrets and tricks
Knew all the things that made me tick.
But I wasn't ashamed its who I am
It was finally out, it wasn't a scam
Eventually I began to heal
But what happened next…believe me is real
A knock on the door one Sunday morning
3 detectives with badges…there was my warning
They took me away in a little silver car
Arrested for what? I didn't know thus far…
They gave me a cell and made me answer some questions
They let me go on bail, no charges or restrictions
“Surrender here in one months time
And we’ll decide your fate and crime”.
The first week was hard as hell,
I knew I couldn't spend my life in a cell
So my suicide plans began again
A Stanley knife and pills would become my friend
Week 2 I lost the will to speak
I couldn't even sleep or eat
Benzos were what the doctor ordered
A Benzo high to fix my disorder
Week 3 is where this picks up
7 days till judgement…I know it sucks
Humming and haring about what to do
Should I Die now or see it through?
Then at 12 by phone did ring
“Hello Ms Dhillon I have some news,
Please sit down while I talk you through,
I know this will be of interest to you”.
“There are no charges to be had
You’re a free women now don’t despair,
I know this fear was hard to bear
But its over now, no need to be scared”.
I sat and I just cried and cried
I now no longer had to die
I knew that I could finally sleep
And slowly all my dreams I could reap
Off to the pub, there were drinks to be had
I am no longer feeling sad
It was relief for all, that much is true
But it was my victory, and it was sweet!
I guess what I'm saying is there's always ways
Ways to keep from going insane
I wouldn't of believed it yesterday either
But today I'm living proof.... it sure does pay to be a believer!
Blessed* --- divine word of Providence-grant
Love-filled, revealing life, blissfully triumphant
Expressing heart, earnestly jubilant
Satisfied by God’s provisions, super-abundant
Sufficed, though resources seem scant
Embellished with great truths, excellently relevant…
Distinguished reality I delight in; “blessed” makes me exuberant!
Blessed**: human term testifying about the pleasant and significant
Liberating attitude from being selfishly arrogant
Empowering soul to be generously compliant
Showing goodness of the Lord, gloriously radiant
Sharing sincere love, rebuking the bitterly defiant
Exemplifying joyous peace, heavenly elegant…
Distinct favorite word of mine; “blessed”*** moves my faith as Christ’s servant!
*2Samuel 22:47 The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.
**Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
***Luke1:45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

Lounging around on those long summer days
A cloudless blue sky, so calm and serene.
A buzz in the air, a bee makes his way
As we lay there dozing, living the dream.
Echoes of yelling, of children at play,
Haring around in the hot summer sun.
Sun worshipers bask for most of the day,
Some burned to a crisp, the paler ones dun.
Late afternoon, some respite from the heat
Now time for the food, the barbecue's lit.
Then wafts the aroma, as flame sears meat
The chicken impaled, turns round on the spit.
Dad dishes the food, he thinks he's the chef
Each standing in line awaiting their turn.
Mother though knows she'll be cleaning the mess,
She winces, watching the sausages burn.
Come early evening it's time to wind down
Children now fractious, soon time for their beds.
Dads got a beer, saying he's done his bit
Mother looks on smiling, shaking her head.

Dear Lord
I turn to you today
to take all theese emotions and feelings away
I have liked a guy for sometime
and thought in your time all things would be fine
he still is huming and haring
and is still unsure what to do
so Lord I turn it all over to you
I carnt keep going on like this one minute hes talking to me
then he is not
it's time to move on and time for this guy I forgot
I know you asked me to wait a while
but it is dragging me down and taking away my smile
I have tried to be a good friend and always have been there
but is still as if he just does not care
I carn't stay in this situation there is nothing left I can do
but Dear Lord
I turn it all over to you
I will focous on what lies ahead
and focous all my love and energys on you instead
I Love you Lord with all my heart and there is no doubt
I know this guy I can live without
you are first in my heart Lord now and ever
you love me always and will leave me never
so hear my plea as I pray
I am sory Lord but from this situation i now have to walk away Amen
Bereft of CHRIST, and the very word “Christ,”
there would be no Christmas…
since Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ
the “Emmanuel”* Who is the Saviour
though not exactly on December 25
as traditionally known...
Devoid of CHRIST, the remaining “mas”
would be in acrostic mean “Man As Sinner.”
I do believe that the biblical Christmas
is the incarnation of God, becoming human
miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit
to reach down to me, a sinner in need of redemption.
Because of CHRIST, Christmas’ is a valuable gift
as mankind is offered love-wrapped present
with eternal life, forgiveness, and peace.
To me, Christmas is receiving
“the gift of God” which is “eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.”**
With CHRIST as the reason for the season
Christmas for me is commemoration...
Celebrating the Lord Who deserves praise-filled commitment
Honouring and worshipping Him with all my heart
Renewing my earnestness to serve responsibly
Inclining my whole to Him, trusting His Word so immutable
Sharing the Gospel, testifying about His grace and salvation
Triumphing in His marvelous wonders thankfully
Making His deeds known, exalting His name, magnificent
Acknowledging His leadership as to Him I yield my all
Staying in His blessed will while faith He strengthens.
Hence, Christmas to me is living for CHRIST*** everyday.
*Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
**Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
***Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ…

It was the night before Thanksgiving, had
trouble sleeping, counting sheep don’t work…
Kept thinking of the leftovers that we would have,
knowing that they would be calling my name before long…
With no will power to speak, no matter what
I would do, I will be haring the turkey calling my
name soon, and the sweet potatoes, homemade noodles,
bread stuffing, green bean casserole and cranberries too…
Wouldn’t be able to fight temptation, no matter how hard I would try…
Would go running to the kitchen, opening the fridge door,
getting a plate and start pilling on the turkey, stuffing,
bean casserole too, then pack on the cranberries to boot…
Keep telling myself, that it’s just once a year that
I eat until I am plump and stuffed to the gills you hear…
The stuffing is tasty, the turkey is so tender,
the sweet potatoes all gooey with marshmallows,
oh, so yummy and of course the pie too…
The gravy was tasty and smooth with no lumps…
Pumpkin pie was piled wildly with whipped cream on top…
Oh, yes, saved a slice of pecan for later into the night…
Keep the Pepto Bismol and Alka-Seltzer close for
you will need one of both before the nights over!
