ENSLAVED FREEDOM

Liberty, equality, fraternity,
beautiful chimeras carved into the republican marble,
yet behind the motto, the Black Code,
the papal bull,
and the slave-trading betrayal as backbone.

Slavery, colonization,
xenophobia, negrophobia,
these are the legacies they disguise as civilizations.

Human zoos, colonial trading posts, the colonial pact,
the savage plunder wrapped in a tricolor flag.
In banana republics, tyranny is always under contract,
Françafrique and its neo-colonial military bases
feed African dictators at the service of the West.

Africa, the third world, whose misery has been planned for millennia,
this is how they name the cradle of humanity.
Under their blades, raw materials
become a procession of genocides,
and neo-colonial poaching devours heritages.

Assimilation, integration, alienation,
these three chains forged by the schools of the empire of Enlightenment.
But human dignity refuses to be sold,
the integrity and identity of courageous souls will never prostitute themselves.

Humanity and Africanity,
these two flames proclaim aloud
that the womb of oppressed peoples
shall never be reduced to the dust of servitude and submission.

With Borrowed Faces in a Place

With Borrowed Faces in a Place

We are turning around with no faces,
Just in cases.
Heaven in our places,
Just two faces.

Screaming out so everyone hears our bases,
 We can't hide our faces.
But truth still chases
Through hidden mazes.

Slow and smoky phrases.
Now we are visible - with our borrowed faces.
Time erases.
There are no traces.

We are turning around with no faces,
Just in cases.
Heaven in our places,
Just two faces.

On many endeavors which I’ve undertaken,
a significant amount of my time was spent.
Explaining things to avoid being mistaken,
later to hear “But Tom, I thought you meant”.

Time spent reworking isn’t time well spent,
so I endeavor to cover all bases before starting.
Misunderstandings, I always try to prevent,
and before starting, completing comparting.

So I’m forced to instruct each person alike,
so that upon completion I won’t have to vent.
Unless the end result is to to my dislike,
and I quickly say, “money wasn’t well spent.”

Pupidee and Bupbidop Bididi

No one knows what is DB
But these are Data Bases

If crime is planned
They're Pupidee

Their fingerprints and faces

Path to Justice do compute
Computer for the Justice

Whom do you defend in true
The privacy or nasties?

Come On Darlin

For Aunt Carolyn, in memory of Uncle Dennis

They were just teens outside a gift shop door,
He said, "Come on, Darling, let’s go explore."
With a wink and a grin, and her hand in his,
They stepped into life, not knowing how rare love like this is.

From navy bases to state lines they flew,
Boxes unpacked and smiles that grew.
Never a house—always a home,
Because love made each place their own.

He’d kiss her forehead, she'd fix his tie,
Even their bickering made cupids sigh.
Like teenagers dancing in a kitchen floor war,
Even their "fights" left you loving them more.

They held hands through hospital halls,
Through birthday cake crumbs and late-night calls.
And even when life was painfully tough,
They reminded us all—true love is enough.

Now she stands where he once stood near,
A bit more quiet, but holding him dear.
Because the thing about love that’s truly true—
Is it doesn’t end. It just waits for you.

So Aunt Carolyn, brave heart, please know this is true:
He’s just ahead now, saving a seat for you.
Still saying with that boyish grin so clever:
"Come on, Darling... let’s do forever."

To Know So Much For
So Little! Turn All
Of These Screws,
I Cover The Bases,
I Spread All The News.

If I Turn On A Dime,
 It's My Dime I Lost...
 I'm Sure My Name:
  "Interesting"
 Will Cover The Costs.

No Factor: Intelligence,
When Nothing Seems Dumb...

  Oh, That Was My Idea?
   Say: "Son-Uva-Gun!"

We'll Serve It Self-Righteous
 To Beat Number One.

It's A Little Long Winded:
  Your Future En-Trusts:
   To Say It Was Torture
    Would Do It Unjust.

Now Just Pause...

  *Your Confession*

     Be-Cause:

I Destroyed The World
Since I Was Not Nearly
As Smart As I Thought I Was.

 Try It Again, With More
 Feeling This Time...

the Danish imbroglio

a Danish imbroglio

The Danish prime minister is appealing to Europe to stop Trump’s idea of taking Greenland and making it an American state
What he wants not that he is overly interested
is to be sure that no other country places
bases on Greenland’s still-cold soil like Russia
or China
the Vikings when Greenland had a period of thawing had farms there, which tells us the brave Vikings were mostly farmers, their fierceness is a national lie
As for Europe helping look another way they
write the declaration of good intent and should
Say, Trump, post troops on the Island, the EU
will wring their hands and do nothing
We know this when Gaza suffered a mini holocaust it lamented, but otherwise, did nothing, even Germany in her misguided sense
of guilt lasting for generations sent weapons to Israel
So, we tell Denmark you are on your own to deal
with this new situation, but to give more money for the defense of Greenland is futile
Perhaps the Danish “hygge” might help

Hawaii, my birthplace, and hometown
Fell victim of being colonized and uprooted
Those dirty rats ceased the cheese
By the 1900's the U.S annexed the territory
In other words, Hawaii was taken by force
And without consent
It's like the dirty rats came in and flexed their muscle
Much to the heartache and protest of the natives
Those disease-carrying rodents overthrew the kingdom
Queen Liliuokalani was forced to abdicate
A cultural genocide took root
The teachings of Hawaiian in schools wiped out
Housing and land requisitioned and displaced by military bases
And the underbelly of those dirty rats grew and grew
Today Hawaii is still a tropical paradise
Tourists flock to the island in droves
There are palm trees and sandy beaches everywhere
But it's the whispers and echoes of the natives
Pointing a finger at the dirty rats
And bemoaning their freedom and the 50th star on the flag
That will be forever lost

N/A-Another one. What else is new? I should go back to playing checkers.

Premium Member Inner Peace

Peaceful mind is a worthy quality.
At rest, my body is the sum of air.
I will walk the road ahead tirelessly.
I can cross the shark's waters tall, no fear.
Belly rolls of laughter in the stillness.
Silence stunning, a strange symphonic muse.
Inwardly, absent wars construct wholeness.
Calm natures set creativity loose.
Nurture tranquil bases; struggle for peace.
Men are frothing waves tied to rebel seas.
Climb the mountain, nestle in the vale's crease.
Internal conflicts spur death and disease.
Herders and sages have found it by Starsearch -
solace can be won on this errant perch.

T-Test

If you compare two things alike
Just like two mountains where you hike
Don't go immediately to peer
If bases are so far or near
First try to see their heights and slopes
The mound-shaped ones are all we hope
Next find their curves — are they the same?
The steeper ones aren't for the lame!
If all of the above are good
Then find the mean and not the mode
Compute the distances between
Two centers whilst their spreads ain't seen
Divide this distance by the "pooled"--
But in reality we're fooled--
A standard dev Welch did revise
With DF sum of both less twice

What Of Worldly Games

Loud silence tends to speak in a
definitive tone
The derivatives are broken english
singing a similar song
An ape is just a copy taking a
swing for the stands
The ballpark in another league on
grounds they'll never stand
Understand over & under whenever
placing a bet
Make sure the horse you ride is one
you thoroughly vet
Backing one from the looks of things
can lead to errors in mass
Cover bases & cross your T's to avoid
L's from the past
Extra innings may be required to win
a summer of games
Falls lead to a series of sights enjoyed
by eyes of the lame
Games are played like April Fools in
days no one is playing
Not calling a shot but pointing out
what it seems no one is saying
Weighing odds against the numbers
wondering if it'll math
Even bad students can learn their
lessons though a clown in the class
Pastimes are over & done as you see
the future is here
View it from eyes of understanding
instead of how it appears

Premium Member Swing For the Fences

Hey! Batter! Hey, hey batter!
Hey! Batter, swing!

There is the wind up. Here comes the pitch.
Fastball, slider, curve, but which is which?
Bases are loaded, it’s up to you…
Swing for the fences! Do what you do!
No one to help you. The ump is blind.
There’s so much pressure. Two runs behind.
You stand alone on the precipice.
Give it your best shot! A swing… a miss…

Hey! Batter! Hey, hey batter!
Hey! Batter, swing!

So many hecklers… the catcher laughs.
It’s just his job to try to distract.
You are all warmed up, ready to go…
Swing for the fences! Do what you know!
The fans are yelling, calling you names.
It’s life or death now, not just a game.
Millions are counting on your strong wrist.
Eye on the ball but… another miss…

Hey! Batter! Hey, hey batter!
Hey! Batter, swing!

Lean in closer, maybe you’ll get hit.
Just some pain from an errant pitch.
Forget that! Focus! Let’s make the news.
Swing for the fences! What will you lose?
You lured the pitcher into your trap.
One more second everyone will clap.
You’re in the zone now, there’s no defense.
Over the plate… Now Over the fence!

Hey! Batter! Hey, hey batter!
Hey! Batter, swing!

Premium Member City Life Circa 1957

City life, for kids, before the onslaught of helicopter parents and mandatory parental involvement in every aspect of growing up. We played baseball, no umpires, the bases pieces of cardboard, scratched in dirt, or chalked on the pavement. Four neighborhoods abutted each other. We, the children of the game, formed teams, formed an impromptu “league”. On one of these occasions when a game was “scheduled” team A came up short of the mandatory nine. Team B would allow one of its players to play for team A. The proof that this did not hurt team A’s chances of winning became evident the day Billie, (we’ll call her Billy to protect the legend), came to bat in the last inning and singled home the winning run for team A.

After the game Billie walked home with the rest of our team. She looked a bit sheepish and we did sort of give her the business. We all knew it didn’t matter which team you played for because the game demanded you play your best and hold your head high in both victory and defeat.

The bat is in Freddy Freeman's grip.
He's injured, but can he let it rip?
With two outs, bases loaded,
first pitch, his bat exploded -
grand slam! Freddy takes a four-base trip.

nuclear in Norway

Nuclear in Norway

Should the Russian army occupy Northerner Norway, they know the way
Last time they came and helped chase the Nazi army out and freed us was in 1945
Russia was popular after the war, Stalin was called Uncle Joe
This scared the USA it quickly sent the Marshal aid
there was a geo-political shift despite open borders
Relentless propaganda made Russians into monsters, but despite this, the borders were kept open
Norway is now embraced in the arms of the US/NATO yes it is the same thing they have 17 bases mostly up North
but has few troops to speak of, should the Russki come
there will be no help from Sweden, is not attacked
and declare neutrality as they did in the Nazi war
The North of Norway is within the Arctic Circle and thanks to the golf current, has ice-free harbors, the best of all the North- pole is only a stone's throw away from the pole
of political interest for bigger nations
What will the US do if they can't shift the occupiers of a rich little country, full of oil and minerals?
Will Norway become the first nation nuked since
Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan
