Oh Well!

So be it then, Darkness will be my cover As I lurk within the realm Of my awaiting beauty I’ll duck beneath her elm I’ll climb each outstretched limb So, just to get a view As I seek out my lovely Whose heart is there to woo So be it then, When she stares out of her window In darkness, she won’t see That face, looking back at her The face of love, that’s me I’ll descend from where I perched Then knock upon her door With hopes that she will answer And love forever more So be it then, The door had then swung open A burly voice did greet The lady of the house, not there Her husband I did meet I must have been mistaken I thought I knew her well Of her recent marriage Was something she did not tell
