Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself." ~ Khalil Gibran If words of my fortune cookie were by Confucius written, he must have been deeply in love and completely smitten to know the taste of it is as sweet as pollen to the bees and as beautiful as Springtime buds blooming on trees. Each happy tear that falls is ambrosia upon my tongue The suckle of his lips is worthy of a love song to be sung Honeyed kisses, more succulent than a flower's nectar and I am the fortunate one for being his chosen collector. The good fortune in life is beyond all means of measure As a musician's inspiration brings him a source of pleasure, so does the heart find its nourishment in the revelation that passion is the drink that fills love's need for libation. Fruit of the vine is not the only choice in which lovers imbibe. The taste of honeyed kisses is the ale that I would prescribe.

Very nice Lin. Love's intimacy is a very sweet thing. In some way, we're hard wired for it and isn't it a lovely gift from Mother Nature? We are so lucky indeed! Smiles!!

Lin, this is so beautiful! I felt every word, especially ‘each happy tear that falls is ambrosia upon my tongue’ and ‘the taste of honeyed kisses is the ale that I would prescribe.’ What a dreamy, romantic piece. You really have a way of painting emotions with words.

This is so beautiful dear linnersz, i love the way youv described love passion and attraction using elements of nature, in such an artistic manner, i especially love "The good fortune in life is beyond all means of measure As a musician's inspiration brings him a source of pleasure," i think he is inspired and more in love with the music of your heartbeat, and the opening line is so clever! There was a time on facebook they had fortune cookies, and it kind of reminded me of that. You have a way with words! Pleasure reading your poem. Sending you light always

Thank you, Ink. I'd much rather exploit the joy found in a mutual romantic relationship rather than one that has fallen apart, leaving a wounded heart. The musician inspiration came from years of knowing what inspiration means to a musician. It's nearly the same for a poet, but writing music can take a lot longer, especially when that person is a perfectionist. Thanks for shining your light on this one.
