Tuesday Comes
Tuesday comes and you may not know what to think When Tuesday comes, you may not know what to think Something might occur to push you over the brink There’s a famine in the fields that once gave grain Famine’s in the fields that once gave grain And the peasants in the village have gone insane How come my love doesn’t look at me no more? Tell me why my love won’t look at me anymore Last night, she gave me detailed directions to the door A blood moon waxing and the sun is black with shame Bloody moon waxing, while the sun is black with shame Look up at the stars — you can see the Fates know your name Key is turned and the missiles are comin’ on home When that key is turned, the missiles will be comin’ on home And we’ll forget all the words for the things we’ve ever known Tuesday comes and you may not know what to think When Tuesday comes, you may not know what to think So taste the last rays of love on your lips like a drink
