For her lover left her dying As he rode away to haunt her So the young star started crying, Giving birth to her sons and daughters. To restart their mother's work They drifted into space But one drifted down to earth With her beautiful sun-wept face. She landed near my kinsmen Her hair, her mothers tears A lovely glowing crimson I'd see in a few short years. She goes through her life Bringing love until she makes contact Then a sinking feeling of strife Your joy begins to contract. I'm sorry soul I truly am But fill the hole I know I can't. Now I have as of late Been overcome with a reckless feeling That if I take the bait I just might know her sun-wept healing. She doesn't know I love her so And I know she likely shouldn't She's graced another with her glow Compete with him, I couldn't. And yet still she's shy And think's little of herself I can't help but sigh Cause I know I can't help. I know that he's got her I realize he's done it I can't love someone who's not her My heart starts to plummet. She hasn't caught me staring Though I do more than I should I know her love, so bold and daring Her freckled cheeks her truth and good. Does she ever think of me as well? Does she ever fantasize About my love though it hurts like hell? Does she know I love her deep blue eyes? I'd feel so much more at home If only I knew had her At this rate I'll always be alone My heart can't help but shatter. Still her mother would have been proud To know she wants nothing to do with "us" I'll keep on living beneath my shroud while she leaves me and my soul ruinous. I want her so dearly I know I can't have her My eyes get teary As I listen to her laughter. I wish not this grief For the sun-daughters other Although he's a thief He still is my brother.
