Glenn Hughes: God of Money
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Welcome to the land of love, blood, milk and honey I will begin with the four words; love, blood, milk and honey. Now I'll paraphrase; milk and honey, and as such, considered it to be 'zealously overused.' Love, I would consider it as palatably associated with milk and honey, jointly or separately, and stands alone on its own merits. Blood, on the other hand, is the odd one out. Not applicable on the average scale to the other words. With that said; Blood it's the tune that looms its commune. You wanna get saved and we won't have pity for you The line is highly subjective and could be arguably an objective yet the words are emotionally fragmented. yourself on the vine sure ain't funny Sellin' yourself/./period, it depends who's buyin', and if there be a vine, be certain there's no noose at the end; vines attract monkey business. I know what your crave and the things that you would do The rest aligns closely with that Chartreuse paper thing. The one they call, 'legal tender,' why? Did that overpriced restaurant burn my steak illegally? If it's all you're waiting for It's all behind the door You have to erase your fear It come and it go And you will disappear Now you're down below Don't bow down on the ground to the God of money Do you want to put yourself on the mound of sure fire greed Don't bow down on the ground to the God of money You don't understand that you get, you get what you need Glenn Hughes is informing fellow artisans that the road is paved in gold one will have to break sweat because the journey that Legal Tender is going to be made is beyond the studio doors, and a slew of Live Performances are going to be made in the shadows beyond the studio, be a travelin band and making with the jingle--the pocket sort of jingling. Welcome to th? land of gold, it lies on the table Ain't it a justifi?d thing that it's looking at you Gonna burn gasoline, going to fly, fly if you're able Ain't it a magical thing, now what you gonna do? If it's all you're waiting for It's all behind the door There is a unique art in repetitiveness, where it is easily mistaken, or, misconstrued as an artist's way of painting or emphasizing a certain point of a song about the way life is, when in fact, it is about the woes of the music industry in general. This is, Glenn Hughes, views of the music industry, when you're behind closed doors, in a lighted studio, and tapes spinning on walls, and just before you sound off your first note, Mr. Legal Tender, waltzes in, and there are dotted lines left and write, and of course, Glenn gets the part of the contract that's unreadable. Glenn is informing other artists to prepare themselves for a possible disappointment sort of journey.
