BORN TO SEE BEAUTY
I think when it comes to seeing beauty in the world… one of the best things that’s ever happened to me… is to have been born with blurry vision…with eyes that can’t clearly see. When I look out on the ocean, the clouds, the stars, the flowers, the mountains and the trees as they all blend together…their beauty is all I see. Since my eyes cannot perceive details I have difficulty seeing the differences in all the nature I am shown and with the differences stripped away each piece of nature has a beauty all its own. My eyes see only a fusion of nature when I look around. The clouds become floating pillows…the flowers…rainbows on the ground. It’s the same when I look at people…with everyone a little out of focus… Their sizes, shapes and colors tend to run… Devoid of all details…my eyes are free to see the aura and the beauty in each one. You may be wondering if I have glasses…well, of course I do… and when I put them on the world around me comes more clearly into view. But every now and then…as a special treat for me I take them off…look around…and see the world I was created to see. It seems to me the more we focus on details and differences… the more individual beauty is forfeited…lost and distorted in the end Which makes me think I’m lucky to have been born with my eyes… that have always seen…true beauty…is in the blend.
