My Song
They've sung about love and broken hearts and everything in between; Sung about all the foreign lands and the beauty that's rarely seen. They've complained about the weather in spring, summer, winter, and fall; But this song I am singing don't mean anything at all. They've sung about the revolutions and jam packed slavery ships; About the long haired hippy freaks and the wild LSD trips. Sang of the conscripted soldiers and all the young that went AWOL; But this song I am singing don't mean anything at all. They've sung about the birth of robots and intelligence beyond man; Of all the things that they will do so much better than we can. Yet through the speed of progress I can hear the clarion call; But this song I am singing don't mean anything at all. Yesterdays became memories that were held close to the heart, While all those dreams of tomorrow were born to be torn apart. Somewhere there are promises that been ravished in the squall; But this song I am singing don't mean anything at all. Well, they sing about creation and what might be life after death, Yet they don't know what will happen after one takes their last breath. Maybe their voice just might be heard echoing through heaven's hall; Still the song I am singing don't mean anything at all.
