Poem
It was a clear crisp morning around 11 am or so konw one could be seen for miles There was a diner sign hanging off it's post and blinking from a shortage in the wires behind the diner were lot's of houses I got the strangest feeling I was alone in this town because for some reason all homes seemed empty I mean no one could be home in the dark well not everyone in the town I thought I was in some horror novel with out a new script I looked and listened I felt like I was losing my mind it was so quiet but in the darkness and soundless town I heard a noise I followed it in the shadows it was a kid a little boy he was hiding behind a street lantern he looked as if he couldn't speak so I finally yelled hey hey hey hey! before the last echoe of hey could sound lights came on in each house one after the other I started to run to the first house in my path which was a small grey house made of stone different kinds of stones like they were placed there and not built I could see that the lights were on but the windows covered in dust so I wiped a circle on the side window the circle was the size of my face I then peeked inside I could feel someone was breathing on my neck I turned in complete fear it was a little old lady I breathed a sigh of relief that she wasn't a serial killer or worst a ghost behind her tugging at her dress was the little boy I'd seen him earlier she said to me in a soft gentle tone voice why my stars young lady do you have any idea where you are I said in my trembling voice no ma'am my car broke down a little ways down the road the only thing I learned about this town is that I can hear my echoe extremely clear out here the boy looked up at the woman the old woman smiled and asked me would I like to come in for a cup of tea I said sure she led me in the house first looking down at the boy as to comfort him while she visited with me we talked for awhile she showed me pictures in side he held his head down and a tear rolled down his face she began telling me about a legend in echoe village she said there was an explanation of the name and that it wasn't a coincidence that echoes are louder here she whispered to me that the boy lost his parents to the legend they just couldn't stop snooping thier echoes are still heard here but they haven't been seen since that faithful night when they discovered the legend I asked what the hell is the legend she softly held my hand and warned me to stay away from the villagers it is said that who so ever yell in the village that thier voice will remain an echoe forever later that day we went into town people were shopping walking riding bikes and waving at first I didn't think anything of it before the sun went down I said goodbye and thanked the woman as I was leaving I remembered that I haven't heard anyone speak in the town except for the old woman I walked for a while it was starting to get dark I was afraid that I would never get to my city before I knew it I had wandered exactly where the woman warned me not too it began to get darker even faster I knew I was lost again nothing was familiar I was lost forsure it was getting to feel real strange because I began hearing voices but I saw no one so I yelled in the biggest voice ever I wanted to be heard all over town I yelled even screamed louder hey hey hey hey all of a sudden my echoe wouldn't stop others joined in hey hey hey hey help help help the voices were louder I had to cover my ears I felt my mouth moving but nothing would come out I was scared I knew my voice was now trapped with all the other voices in echoe village and that it would remain there forever This was written for all my children I often wrote children books for them to keep them quiet while I wrote raising a big family can be quite loud we had fun telling folklore this one was one of my favorites to this day my children and grandchildren begs me please please to read echoe village amazing how quiet the house became allowed me to breathe and just have a cup a of tea during nap time written three decades ago during tropical storm jerry ..
