Death by gypsy violin Will push you out then pull you in Requiem for a burning pyre Raising twilight ashen choir Up beyond that frozen place Up beyond all time and space No hungry knife shall clip thy wing No wild wasp shall fires sting Thus, these thoughts did prod and pry His love, he knew, could crack the sky I foresaw, thought he, my final breath Sweet violin please bring me death I’ve seen the ever-dark decline Such demoniac serpentine Kill machine ever engage The human mind trapped in a cage From clay I raised your mold to light With flame forlorn I gave you sight Then bound in chains I lay to waste His awful bird, my flesh, did taste A torment wrapped in blood and coal This chiaroscuro clutched my soul For crimes against the Monarchy Are paid in penal infamy A pariah to both god and man Ember death be still my fan Sweet apathy my humbled muse Alights upon my unlit fuse No lower could my curtain swing No water could my desert bring Twisting on the edge of sin It was then I heard the violin Softer that the art of war More complex than Pandora’s door Suspended primal conscious feast Betray the dove, forgive the beast For there within the ash and smoke The garden’s eye, lovers evoke Eternal vows through string and bow Upon my swollen mind did sow Suspended fragments anime Shifting centers disarray My blood did burn beauty sublime Oh, noble human paradigm With shackled limb and violent stare He screamed into the midnight air “Tonight, the sparrow slays the beast Immortal rage ever released” Then bathed in calm his form did still No more vexation held his will Though chained was he to terra firm Prometheus would ever burn The speed of light and the speed of dark Move along an unseen arc Converging in the palm of time So does our light and dark entwine Spinning death and life embrace Like fox and hound they dart and chase Till neither can be pulled apart Chaos is such a perfect art Primal pulse under bloodless sun The feral gods have come undone Frenzied Bacchus shakes his mane Spilling worship pre-ordained Resurrection queen divine Of Ariadne star sublime Her lovely art on canvas night With broken wings unfolding bright Through woven shadowed garden gate The ancient souls of lovers wait To purify their anarchy To sanctify their sacred sea Soft illusions dance upon These echoes of a falling song Sweet appetite conceived within Death by gypsy violin
