About Me At A Glance

by Dr Zik

It is better to discuss my struggle to improve literary excellence in the busy and dull routine of rapidly changing and improving society.

My Findings

No one has time to compose or read long poems with long poetic lines, So when I found two trends for writing short poems or composing long poems using short poetic lines, rhymed or unrhymed, through my research, based upon more than 150 poets from more than 30 countries of all the continents except Antarctica, I categorized, named, defined, explained, and provided them with citations.

The Type of My Work.

I have researched, and my work is like making an idol out of a stone by removing waste from its stiff, rigid surface to show the face and body by exploring frames and features.

Ziket and Zinet.

By doing this literary work, I found two writing trends, smiling dynamically out of the unknown static dull picture of classic and modern English literature to some extent. I am satisfied by doing this service, by mentioning filters through which trends transformed into two root-level short poetic forms: Ziket and Zinet. I have declared these forms by creating two definitions that I commonly found in the English poetry of other international poets.

Zikorean English Literature

The discovery of these two writing styles, showing trends, compelled me to name and define the rules of Zikorean literature, known for an invention in Post-modern English Literary History. It was a rebirth of post-modern English poetry that gave moonlit silently, twinkling like stars, running as streams, coming from hills, and resting in valleys.

Poets In The Past And Present

Countless writers like William Shakespeare, John Donne, Walt Whitman, Robert Frost, Dr. Maya Angelou, Stickland William Gillilan, and John Ashbery were the poets who observed and found an inner motive, which appeared as writing impulse, in the past.

Today, the poet laureate Simon Robert Armitage Professor of English Poetry at the University of Leeds is a prominent figure among the present famous Zikorean poets in this regard. He has been using the Zikorean writing style unconsciously, as the poets did in the past.

Ziket Versus Haiku

A Ziket has 2 to 13 syllables in 2 poetic lines. The first line has 1 to 8 syllables, and the second line has 1 to 5 syllables (1-8, 1-5) or vice versa, depending upon the mood and revelation of the poet. It is a shorter poetic form than Haiku (17), while Haiku has 17 syllables in 3 poetic lines (5,7,5).

The poem by Strickland William Gillilan reads in full:

Lines on the Antiquity of Microbes

Adam

Had' em

Structural Analysis

The first line contains (2) syllables out of a total of (8) ones, and the second line has (2) syllables out of a total of 5 ones.

Critical Analysis

Lines on the Antiquity of Microbes is frequently said to be the shortest poem in the English language in the world. It was true before the two-lined shortest Ziket poem "I am a Masterpiece in the Universe" Look at this poem which is the shortest one in the world:

I am a Masterpiece in the Universe

Whose?

Yours

Structural Analysis

The first line contains (1) syllable out of a total of (8) ones, and the second line has (1) syllable out of a total of (5) ones.

Critical Analysis

In this way, this poem has two syllables in total to complete the theme. It is the shortest poem in Ziket's poetic form, which was the first trend in the world. It is a shorter poem than Lines on the Antiquity of Microbes, also known simply as Fleas, composed by American poet Strickland William Gillilan in the early 20th century. A couplet commonly cited as the shortest poem ever written before the publication of the poem I am a Masterpiece in the Universe.

Ziket Form In History

In several countries around the globe, many international poets have been writing short poetic lines or poems exactly in short poetic forms without knowing or mentioning their specific names for many centuries before the second decade of the 21st century (2015). It was a strange practice because these poetic forms were not researched, discovered, defined, or invented in those days. So rules were also not made by any poet, society, organization, academy, foundation, or English language research department in South America, North America, Great Britain, Australia, or other English-speaking countries. There was no single statement or research work by a researcher from any international school of thought, college, or university about the two trends leading to post-modern English poetry.

Zikorean Awareness In Post-modern Period

Now, after this research and invention of Zikorean poetry, there are more than one hundred and seventy-six countries (including Zikorean States of the USA) where Zikorean poets have been writing Zikorean poetry since 2015.

Zinet Poem and Its Structure

A poem consisting of one poetic line is said to be a Zinet shorter poetic form than Ziket. A Zinet has 1 to 5 syllables. One syllabic Zinet is said to be the shortest poetic form in English literature in the world. A Zinet is of 5 types. Firstly: one syllabic Zinet. Secondly, two syllabic Zinet. Thirdly, three syllabic Zinet. Fourthly, four syllabic Zinet, and fifthly, five syllabic Zinet.

Zikorean Contests

Many poets used these styles in the past for many centuries. Several poets have been writing using these two styles for many years. I have been creating contests at a leading poetry site Allpoetry since 2020. I am glad that several poets have been participating in and conducting their Zikorean writing contests—my special thanks to Mr. Kevin Watt for providing the Allpoetry platform.

Conclusion

I appreciate the interest of valuable readers in short poetic forms that led to this discovery and invention of Zikorean Poetry a revolution in the post-modern period of English Literary History. I am researching the shorter poems of poets from all over the world. I have been writing due to my interest in the service of poets, scholars, students, readers, and English literature for many years. It is my passion, not the profession.
