Romantic Rendezvous

you're so far away...

tantalizing temptation was always your forte
teasing me, drawing me in
making me yearn for your passionate kiss
desperate to be lured
into your amorous arms
by those luscious lavender lips
and the sweet scent of your sultry sensuality

alas, my love...

this cruel chasm created by your passing
has left me melancholic
how I remember our romantic rendezvous
and savor the memories of our marital mergings
bodies entwined in erotic embrace
reaching heights of euphoric ecstasy
that left us spent and satisfied, time and again

tell me where I can find you...

sun and moon are distant lovers, languishing
in an uncaring universe determined
to keep them from consummating their vows
even still, every eighteen months or so
they meet at the appointed time
a galactic eclipse where two become one
causing the cosmos to cry out in joyous refrain

wait for me, my beloved...

and tho' sun and moon may fade away into
an eternal ether of oblivion
my love for you, dear one, shall never wither and die
for ours is a lasting love, destined to deliver
this bereaved soul from the bane of loneliness
and loss on that great day when our two hearts
reunite in rapturous, rhythmic rhapsody -
forever

a day for a year, a day for a year...

your alliterations sound very natural, not forced at all, and who can resist a bit of romance?..that said, there's a lot of telling as opposed to showing, which is probably just as well cos you might get arrested lol romance/erotica is the most difficult genre to write, difficult to avoid slipping into cliche

Tomszy, im having a migraine attack, but reading this made my heart just feel so much. I felt like i was reading a poem written by silent one. But take that as a compliment because he knows romance so well lol. Anyhow! I love the title and your use of alliterations throughout and how youv written a poem that depicts true love and longing in the most eloquent manner. The opening lines drew me in and the passionate sensuality that flows too is so soul hitting! But as you’d know my fave lines from this poem is “ sun and moon are distant lovers” gosh! Can i steal that! So good! “ and tho' sun and moon may fade away into an eternal ether of oblivion my love for you, dear one, shall never wither and die for ours is a lasting love,” such love makes me just go awwn! This is a fave! Also i wanted to say thank you for pointing out my name in your contest. Also “ ink mistress” my old insta name made me feel at home as you mentioned that! Thank you.

Hello Tom, Ahh... the testament to the enduring power of love in the face of separation and loss. You created such a stark picture of longing and desire, and heartfelt words, capturing the essence of craving for a beloved who is no longer within reach. Tom, this is such a moving poem about how true love transcends time and space, offering peace in moments of melancholy and anticipation of a future reunion. A wonderful reflection on the resilience of love against the backdrop of cosmic forces. - Blessings, my friend, Daniel

Delightfully romantic--I hear the sound of alliteration that enhances the tenor of your poem, Tom. And a pledge that says love:---and tho' sun and moon may fade away into an eternal ether of oblivion my love for you, dear one, shall never wither and die---

did you get my soupmail dude? Thanks for mentioning my name as a reference for your contest of alliterative love... I am honoured... now you pressure me to write a masterpiece.. I see you have used light alliteration in this one and word pairings that make sense and create sweet romantic imagery.. loneliness is the nemesis of lovers, especially those distant and apart... who said love and romance was easy> Right? Nice example.

Great alliteration. Stupendous use of emotions on a love lost yet still hoping for a reunion. Great poem, very much to my liking.

After reading this, I hereby dub you "Alliteration King." Besides that, this open is a beautiful poem that speaks to the enduring power and magic of love. Nicely done.

' luscious lavender lips, ' and ' the sweet scent of sultry sensuality. ' There's something about these words that leave me breathless. It's a romantic connection and a beautiful mood. A breathtaking moment, indeed. I'm fluttering and floating, all at the same time. :)
