~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
sleep gentle earth, sleep,
brush the lips of winter oh my gentle one,
frozen though you lie, enmeshed in dreams,
rocked by snow slayed lullabies.
sleep gentle earth, sleep,
till touched by warm sun to blush and awaken,
feeling the budding in your rebirth
celebration song triumphant.
sleep gentle earth, sleep,
as sustainer of us all, my love I give,
tilling your loam
bringing forth your abundance.
until then
sleep gentle earth, sleep,
in winter revolutions until the seasons
once again change, bringing
spring greens to your fields.
