The words you didn't mean

You spoke the fears I had confined Caged up in the back of my mind I told myself they were not true But now they're back, because of you Once diminished, doubt was gone Your affirmations brought out dawn But now it seems, you’ve changed your mind The real test to pass was time The failed exam I would have wrote For all my life, off that one quote You said the words you didn't mean I’ve lived by them, a full machine My world was held up by your hands Without them now, my frozen lands Are barren, that’s the price I pray For willingly giving my heart away
