Thaw
THAW
The fearsome ice
Held us all in thrall
- Mighty, weeks ago -
Now bows its head
To the sun’s holy fire:
Subjugated without grace,
Piercing ice spears dulled,
Cold grip pulled loose,
Harsh white glare commuted
To green gaze.
