Stage Fright

Sweaty palms And a nervous stomach Getting up in front of a crowd. Everyone staring Waiting and listening For me to speak out loud. Butterfly sensation My voice begins to crack And the words begin to flow. I speak and talk The truth comes out I stand firm in the glow. Confidence appears Fright and worry die Others judge the sound. Smiles and laughter Thoughts achieved Clapping hands abound.

Julie - Been there , done that and had the sweaty t-shirt to prove it. You have cleverly captured "the moment". I've just read your forum piece on writing advice and can relate to each wise paragraph you've presented. I eventually finished that book which was lurking inside me. Never bothered with trying to find a Publishing House, so I self-published on Amazon. I'll send you a copy, with my compliments direct from Amazon, if you soupmail me your address - It's called "The Dog Sit Affair".

Hurrah for you! Glad to read the happy outcome... They say that a higher percentage of people fear public speaking (~ 53 - 54%) than fear death! Huzzah! :) gw
