Silenced
The night is swept with sorrow
Like a broom against the grain
Dusty air and smokey puffs
And laced to pace the vein
Burn the inner motion
Halt the raging sea-
Breathe in the sinner's guilt
And pain cast over me
I've heard the cello drone
I can see the midnight's womb
I can feel the heavy air
Drifting past the summer's tomb
I have felt the golden light
And known the burdened heart-
I have lived by broken promise
Returned by pained depart
I've been given nurture's role
To repair the wound's alone
Waiting for our mother, Time
Without a mother's drone
The night is cold and dead
Smoke released with guidance
List'ning for the sound of love
And for once, the sound of silence
