Shining Bright
It happened on, a moonless night,
our fatal path, was out of sight,
and when we crashed, I saw the light,
my fate was doomed, to loose this fight.
So I write this note, to let you know,
the love I have, but didn't show,
was always there, from long ago,
and I was wrong, to take it slow.
I'm sorry if, I write too fast,
the water's rising, my time won't last,
I hope your able, to forgive my past,
and all my sins, so very vast.
Another foot, the water rose,
its so cold, I can't feel my toes,
I'll do my best, my nose is froze,
to keep writing, as my heartbeat slows.
Its hard to write, above my head,
so I swim up, and float instead,
my mind is blurred, and full of dread,
It's almost time, I'm almost dead.
And so I fight, with all my mite,
my face against, the deck so tight,
no air to breathe, and still despite,
my shining star, you shine so ......!
