Seeking Rainbows Among the Darkness

There are dark shadows all around me There is silence all around I've tried to get used to the darkness But I can't adjust to the silence--the lack of any sound. When the darkness falls upon me And my life becomes dark as night, I seek rainbows... With their colors so clear and bright. As a child, I happily looked for rainbows Shortly after the rain Now, as a woman, I find myself Anxiously seeking the rainbows once again. When my spirit is empty, when my life feels unfulfilled, and the sadness inside me grows, I do what I know best... I start seeking rainbows.
