Rejection

Rejecting someone isn't easy It like breaking a beautiful vase, A vase you created with sweat and tears With laughter and smiles A vase, you have tenderly handled up until now It's like tearing a part of your soul and leaving a void Dark, black, hopeless, empty Swallowing a poisoned pill knowing it kills Gulping it down without water Leaving behind a bitter taste on the once sweet tongue like dipping in water, drowning your heart Trying to breath, folding onto yourself, Curling and holding your knees to chest Keeping your eyelids close Because they can't see your tears Because it isn't supposed to hurt so much It feels like the sky is heaving Screaming and crying Pouring it's pain, in words it can't form Like the first morning ray struggling to reach your bed through the curtains of your window Curtains that were closed the night before Sleep never really visited the room did it? An Infant you gave birth to , tiny in your huge hands Choking for air, You are standing still, in turmoil, helpless Rejecting someone is like that garden which you stopped watering You see it wither and waste away Years and years of hard work, disappearing with each noon of summer So by any means, next time someone rejects you Do no call them ruthless and selfish Because rejection is the most selfless gift they can give you.
