Ptsd Insomnia

It's 10 pm I go to bed Try to rest my weary head It's 11 pm I just can't sleep Things I'm seeing make me weep It's 12 am I've drifted off Woken again as I start to cough Its 1 am I'm awake again I don't need to see this pain It's 2am I'm restless still I get up take a pill It's 3am I nod of once more Bet I'm awake again at 4 It's 4 am I've had my snooze I wonder if it's lack of booze Its 5am I'm asleep at last This sleeping game goes to fast Its 6am I'm still sleeping tight Then my memories start to fight Its 7am I'm now wide awake The alarm went off my mistake It's 8am off to work I go Hope it's quick not to slow Its 10 am and I'm working hard Even posted a birthday card Its 12 pm and lunch break starts I'm really tired falling apart Its 1 pm didn't manage a nap Think I need a night cap Its 3 pm seven hours to push Maybe I could lay under a bush Its 5pm on my way home I ring my family on the phone Its 6pm it's family time Before bed listen to rhyme Its 7pm I'm totally shattered Have tea then adults chattered Its 8pm nearly time for bed When I can rest my weary head It's 9pm not long to wait For my mind to take the bait It's 10pm I take myself up Feel like I'm in a thermas cup Back in bed it starts over again When will I sleep and see no pain

Powerful, enlightening pen. PTSD is a beast of an affliction. Hugs and warm wishes, xomo

I have found poetry similarly cathartic. I have suffered PTSD, and am finding poetry especially helpful healing with PCS. I invite you to read my piece The PTSD Beat. Have you looked into NeurOptimal Neurofeedback?
