Immigrants why do you come? Whether you are spiritual or mathematical etc. This is our Karma: Isacc Newton’s 3rd Law For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction—Sir Isaac Newton Tact is the art of making a point without making an enemy—Sir Isaac Newton I can calculate the motion of heavenly bodies but not the madness of people—Sir Isaac Newton Dangerously nearing a very steep precipice –ran by the shadow in thy kings tarnished soul, he proceeds with his paper kingdom—I Am Anaya Do not be fooled by the power of the king, by the shadow he’s enveloped Open your eyes to the shadow He pokes, pricks, and stirs the fear inside Drowning in remorse, regret, and sorrow till nothing remains but the hatred Hatred has the king for his paper kingdom A tyrant evolves Fragile like the house of cards Tis but origami paper meticulously folded with patience, is his castle Immigrant why do you come? Immigrant you must have dire reason You’ll only find division, malice and disfunction So many dwell under a rock blindly leading blind Toward the precipice Tis this charade! The king’s been tricked As he parades his symbols Dangerously close to the precipice How do we choose Who will vie for king? Riddled by the law not founded on solid ground after all The two dimensions The jack-ass consistently kicks the lion discombobulating him Heretical in families misjudging the way of the world Nothing ever resolved In his paper kingdom how should society work? Whose ethical ideas? Whose ideology? Spectrum such as the left, the centre or the right

paper, my dear poet, holds no value...anymore. What floats in the aether is the commodity.

hmm, in the end I can't eat gold, but I do believe in the barter system! :) Biden did an excellent job on the State of the Union address, tour de force, calling out the Republicans on the immigration & more.

Vulnerable in rice paper thin is the veneer of our enlightened civilization. We live in a house of cards, do we not. Enjoyed, R.G.

Thank you, Edward! It bites has two meanings, glad it's the one that hurts lol. I am so pleased with my placement, thank you for enjoying!

I have read this twice, and the second time, I likened your "king" to American political leaders. Then it came to full fruition, and it embodied a real meaning that I could accept. Now I love it. Its profound. (even though it doesn't rhyme, and no matter how I delved I couldn't find one fairy.) Then I read others comments and prided myself as being on the right track. Well done Anaya this is truly a great poem ! Best wishes Wen.

Yes the reference to the Royal monarchy is obvious. It took a 2nd reading to pick up on the innuendo of American "sovereignty". I definitely got your point- lol still looking for the fairies. :)

I was hoping to capture both, Wen. I imagined a paper kingdom and like any kingdom freedom is rare. The irony is that Americans fought a revolution to be free of a monarchy, yet England still has a monarchy and are as every bit as free! It is the primary's red vs. blue here-symbols we use, hence I infused origami- America's red elephant representing Republican-- blue donkey representing Democrats, adding a hint of the party that kicks-ass! Thank you always, for your visit!

What a brilliant and profound write this is dear poetic soul, you have a way with expressing and delivering your thoughts in the most eloquent manner. Before i get into the poem i must highlight im a strong believer of the quote youve used, “ for every action there is an equal or opposite reaction” and about your poem how clever is the way you phrase things i really loved the origami line and also “The jack-ass consistently kicks the lion discombobulating him” well said! You are well aware. BOL

your poem shows your wisdom. I feel so very sad to see liberties disappearing all because of the shadow world controlling a puppet president and ruining a political party I thought better of in the past. There seems to be no answer any more when all we are presented with are two geriatrics battling it out again. Why is nobody looking at Robert F. Kennedy Jr?? He is so smart and sensible but he has no chance in the Independent party. Like Rome, we are falling. Sad indeed. This is a fave.

Lol. Maria Shriver & Bobby Shriver spent a portion of their childhood in the White House while their uncle, the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy. Maria & Bobby children of Eunice Kennedy Shriver — Maria the fifth Kennedy sibling — making the newscaster JFK's niece & Arnold's wife. He (Bobby) lost his bid to a celebrity Shiela Kuehl! Baby boomers voted for her, Dobis Gilis, she was Zelda Guilroy. Robert Jr & Bobby In August 1970, Robert Kennedy & cousin Bobby Shriver were arrested in Barnstable, Massachusetts, for marijuana possession & were placed on 13 months' probation would've been battling cousins! haha

Thank you, I'm grateful. So true, Andrea, thank you for the fave! I have looked into RFK Jr., I leave it with this; I would have much rather of seen Bobby Shriver, his cousin who a few years back, lost his bid for County Board of Supervisors for the 3rd District. He could have used the position as a steppingstone for a higher office, eventually President?

I know your poem is intended as a political statement but I see parallels to Satan's invisible rule over this world, especially that first stanza. Tempting to develop that.. the ultimate paper kingdom. Nice poem Anaya

Right you are my friend. The shadow representing humanity's dark depravity, making sure the king is in his grasp. Also I made hints to the American party that I prefer wink, nudge. Thank you, Tom!

I enjoyed the quotes, yours just as much as Newtons. I like the way you exposed the delima we are in here in the U.S. especially. Immigrations is a tough subject and right, left or center is almost impossible in today's political environment. I'm all for people having both an opportunity to escape brutality and improve their standard of living for themselves and their families. I just believe we need to create laws that allow that to happens without crisis. (out of words again) Hugs, Bill

Portugal became the first country in the world to decriminalize all drugs, including meth and heroin in 2001. The law made drug possession for personal use legally prohibited, while drug trafficking remains a criminal offense. However, drug possession for commercial use and drug trafficking is still considered illegal and prosecuted as a criminal offense3. The Portugal Drug Policy, implemented, decriminalized the personal consumption, acquisition, and possession of all drugs. Drug dealers and traffickers are still sent to jail. “Overall, Portugal’s approach has been both praised and criticized, but it remains an important case study in drug policy reform”

Part 1. I agree Bill, I watched Crime Miniseries Highway 1 Atlantic city to Daytona. Trucker's serial killers they realized it was all over the country, junky prostitutes thrown alongside the highways, corrupt officers. All I could think was Legalize Drugs! Step 2 Rehabs, this would be the only experiment America has not tried out. Part 2 above

Your poem really struck a chord with me and made me really think about the issues. The way you blend Newton's laws with societal commentary is genius. Your words create a picture of the fragility of power and the complexities of immigration. Keep shining a light on these important issues through your powerful poetry. - Blessings, Daniel

I believe the Bible verse you are referring to is Micah 3:4. The verse states that “Then they will cry out to the LORD, but He will not answer them. At that time He will hide His face from them because of the evil they have done” 1. This verse suggests that if people do not seek God’s help in time, they may not receive it when they need it the most. God is love, perhaps we had the answer all along!

House of cards/origami paper, all held together by us ignorant plebes, so what’s in it for us (his subjects), John Lennon would say (They keep you doped with religion and sex and TV And you think you're so clever and classless and free But you're still £ucking peasants as far as I can see, a working class hero is something to be) you nailed this one Anaya, excellent, cheers David

Lennon's Working Class Hero is an excellent comparison.Thank you, David! "To test a man's character give him a little authority" --Abe Lincoln. I imagined a paper kingdom and like any kingdom freedom is rare. The irony is that Americans fought a revolution to be free of a monarchy, yet England still has a monarchy and are as every bit as free! It is the primary's red vs. blue here-symbols we use, hence I enfused origami- America's red elephant representing Republican-- blue donkey representing Democrats, adding a hint of the party that kicks-ass! Thank you always, for your visit!

Your poem is a call to action, urging readers to critically examine the ethical and ideological underpinnings of society. It challenges us to envision a more just and equitable world, free from the trappings of power and manipulation, where all voices are heard and valued. Through its incisive commentary and vivid imagery, "Paper Kingdom" invites readers to reflect on the nature of power and authority, and the collective responsibility we share in shaping the future of society.
