My View of You

Your arm wraps around her shoulder. She slips in—wears you easily and steps in the place that was our embrace for eighteen years. This looks so effortless for you. Out of breath— my life crosses the finish line of a marathon-marriage to this slow-motion, surreal, stream of pain. Unsteady on my feet like a nervous bride, my forevers and until death vows unceremoniously fade..

Hello Tamra, yes it hurts when a marriage falls apart. It also hurts when the husband cheats. What happened to the marriage vows? is it only one person that believes in the marriage vows? /Darlene/

Oh my, Tamra, this poem could have been written by me, though not as beautifully. May I just say it speaks to me, and then some! Thank you! Ellen

Very poignant write here, Tamra. So much expressed with few words! Really a keeper that I've added to my favorites list. The marathon marriage to the slow-motion pain and the vows at the end ... its an incredible piece!!
