More Than That

Clever. In a way only a person can be. When she would try to sneak our human food. Loving. When she would place her paw on my hand. If she had fingers, I bet she would clasp them into mine. They say she was just a cat. A cat whose whiskers would brush my face. As she would get close, I would blink, and she would blink back. They wouldn’t say it, But they all figured she was just a cat. So their condolences were for a cat. But she was kind, and silly, and quirky! You would have to meet her. But now you’ll never know.
