Man
MAN
Man is a half-finished creature,
Unlike a woman, complete in every way.
He needs completion with another -
Will cross oceans without delay,
Confront all obstacles to get her,
His other half so hidden away.
Left alone he starts to grow -
Becomes a painter or sculptor
Showing us all the skills we know;
Or turns to breaking laws or
Heinous acts so black and low
He’d never get in heaven’s door.
When he finds the half he’s lost
His way ahead is clear and straight -
Endless effort at lttle cost.
To celebrate his entry in the gate,
Wickedness to the winds is tossed:
Now he’s a friend of fate.
