"One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life. The word is love." Sophocles, Greek Poet ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Forever in the caverns of my heart Roam spirits of the loves I left behind. Never does echo of their touch depart Forever are their footsteps in my mind. With nicks from many partings in the past Endlessly will those cavern walls be lined. Mem’ry drops build stalagmites of the cast Of actors in my theater of time. Ceaselessly have my footsteps shunned the paths That lead to those whose touch have been unkind. Remnants of the folly of all my wraths Throw up the rocks where painful pathways wind. Beyond a love is one that shares the pain To clear the rubble from those paths again.

Very nice caverns of memory metaphor, Sara. I can picture memories existing in a darkened cavern, only partially visible, where we can choose which paths go to through, where some paths we block, until we can heal. I think it's a winner!

A wonderful poem on the calming and aesthetically pleasing qualities of different flower aromas, which are personified as beings who provide happiness and comfort to anybody who comes into contact with them. The poem also beautifully explores the many floral scents and their impact on people's emotions and senses. You encapsulate these aromas and paint a picture of how they bring you joy and solace. Sara, your traditional Sonnet is breathtaking, and they say a friend is a spellchecker.... Forgive me for interfering, But the contest calls for only 3 stanzas. Would be more "pleasing to the eye" when you divide your 14 lines into only 3 stanzas... Best of luck sweet friend.
