Journey On the Morn
Feel it in the winds a' blowing,
the changes from 'cross the sea;
In the coolness of the ev'ning,
for those hoping to break free.
Flowing o'er the plains of Georgia
and the days that come to mind,
Moving further down the highways
through the corridors of time. . .
Like a never ending story
that rolls somewhere far ahead,
Beyond one's imagination
and those pages yet unread.
Tomorrows grow from what's been left
in the days which we once knew,
While someone else tells the old tale
from another point of view.
And all of this seems to take place
when it is expected least,
Just before the coming sunrise
that's been waiting in the east.
It's as though we've never been there
or that we had ever gone
Beyond the passing childhood dreams
that once led forever on.
Somewhere soft in the picture frame,
which still holds a yellow page,
There be faces we'll remember
far into an unseen age.
A whispered song of yesterday
always lifts that one more smile,
And soothes the souls of ravaged beasts,
if just for a little while.
Before you know ev'ning has passed,
sunshine warms the heart within,
One last page is turned with the breeze;
a new journey does begin.
