Hungry Heart
I’m seeking forgiveness
From the spell I was under
The path that we travelled
Weren’t nothin’ I’d planned
In a dimly lit bar room
My world torn asunder
Your crystal-blue eyes
Whispered, you’d understand
Cos the heart has a hunger
That’ll steal the minds wisdom
When loneliness echoes
Through your fingers and toes
Salvation lies waiting
In the arms of another
Who’s lived in the madness
You’ve known, I suppose
Salvation lies waiting
In the arms of another
Who’s lived in the madness
You’ve known, I suppose
So I raised a glass
To the lost and the lonely
The wretched the reckless
Knowing they’d understand
And shut both my eyes
On the edge of forever
And leapt toward the darkness
With her holding my hand
Cos the heart has a hunger
That’ll steal the minds wisdom
When loneliness echoes
Through your fingers and toes
Salvation lies waiting
In the arms of another
Who’s lived in the madness
You’ve known, I suppose
Salvation lies waiting
In the arms of another
Who’s lived in the madness
You’ve known, I suppose
