Wonderful metaphor, Krish - love, like "white shirts" does not wear out. And I like how you equated "white" with its reference to "purity" to love. These lines are masterfully crafted with lots to ponder between your clothes lines. Sending you congratulations my friend! This is a fav for me!

Ah, such a pleasant memory you've restored, Krish. I remember helping my Mom washing clothes by hand (too) many years ago, then wringing them out and clothes-pinning to the line. Seems we had to time to talk to our neighbors back then... Thanks! ~ Nostalgia Nut

Gershon We seem to be from the same era! Washing clothes and helping mum was a kind of bonding and appreciation that the current generation miss out on! Yes I have washed, wrung the clothes and put them up for drying!

Clothes drying in line reminds of mother, never wife for a mother washed with hand and poured her love and efforts to get that whiteness. A great tribute to mother. mother's love highest and unparalleled. That's why we say" mata, pita, guru, devta" Touched a chord in heart, I remembered mother in bathroom with bucket full of clothes. Second part values given by mother ... Should never be forgotten

Thanks Rama! Yes, the amount of work mothers put in to bring their children up! Cooking on kerosene stoves, hand made food three times a day, and all that love! Nothing in the world can measure up to that kind of commitment!
