Finding Fun On A Budget Part 3 - The Great Beef Jerky Ride

Not an amusement park in sight So, we headed to the mountains No bumper cars, roller coasters, Spinning cups, or dancing fountains We diligently searched For something to stimulate our hype At last we spotted a Near perpendicular metal irrigation pipe Without a pod, a seat, or even some grease The tube had way too much drag A quick search of our backpacks Revealed an empty beef jerky bag I volunteered to go first and Attempt our unusual ride The others cheered and stepped back To get a better look at our very long slide I scrambled on the drain, carefully sat down … And shot off like a bullet It hurt so bad when I landed For a year, I could barely even sit on a toilet

Thank you Empress! It admittedly won’t be winning a contest anytime soon lol. But, sometimes it’s fun just to throw these goofball poems out there :)

Funny, comical and full of pleasure, except for the ending. Must be painful. Or is this fiction? :)

Thank you! True story. Surprisingly, the ending, though painful, brings back fond memories. Sometimes, when my backside hurts I remember this story and smile.

Oh dear, Robert! Pain for a few moments of pleasure! Rats! Our giggles at your expense! Must have been a very painful ride home! Funny story told so well. Thank you for sharing! I especially like your series of poems that shares your family ingenuity - finding fun and making memories on a budget! In this case on the "seat" of learning! This is a lesson many need to learn especially with the current cost of living Blessings! Gratitude!

Thank you! Yes, true story. My teenaged kids laughed at me for a very long time.
