Note: Just a try of Andaree Form, a beautiful poetry type created by an amazing poetess, Andrea Dietrich. It was not entered in the latest Andaree poem contest  because it came late.

Death (andaree form) This thief comes anytime of the day and night With claws of raptor sharper than scythe Grabbing us, loved ones or friends Mortality ends Soul departs Hence Lift our hearts To God, He stays, tends Transgressions, offenses mends So that at hour of death we find the light This thief comes anytime of the day and night.

Dear Len, your poem crafted in the Andaree form is a powerful meditation on mortality and the inevitability of death's arrival. I loved how the imagery of death as a thief with claws sharper than a scythe is striking, evoking a sense of urgency and finality. Yet, amidst the darkness, there's a glimmer of hope as you urge us to lift our hearts to God, who tends to our souls and offers redemption. What a great reflection on the human condition and our quest for spiritual enlightenment in the face of mortality. - Blessings, Daniel

Dear Len, this is such a poignant poem and so well written. It’s very profound too, ‘ This thief comes anytime of the day or night’ . A reflective read. A clever but sad take on the reality of death and you did it so well with this for... I like the use of words and comparisons.. philosophical and deep in a sense.. Best of luck in the contest..
