Blinded

Heavy heart weighs me down Troubles the mind Obscures clear thought Turbulent life coexists Within the realm of the couple On a plain different From where love resides As shattered glass blocks the view But stays in place People, too, can be the shards Left there to block another Not allowing the vision The sight of what may be May the glass fall to the ground Opening up the skies to those in need Opening up the horizons To the blind May it not cut when falling For with each piece Are spoken words Which draw blood Leaving scars Heavy heart weighs me down Troubles the mind Obscures clear thought

This one grasps the reader and pulls them in, almost requiring them to search their own soul. It is written in a way that sends some hope to a lonely soul and yet it is a saddening reminder for those that live it. You write so beautifully. My words can not even come close to telling you how this one has touched me. Smiles from Lolita

Wow. Incredible poem. Yes, a heavy heart can do that. May your days be lighter and brighter. I know this feeling of being weighed down well. Love, Shar

Wow Michael... this is very powerful with lots of emotion. You have penned this excellently. I especially love this part: "As shattered glass blocks the view But stays in place People, too, can be the shards" that is so true... I have dealt with that at times in my own life too, you captured that feeling vividly with your words. I hope things get better and that your heavy heart becomes lighter today. Blessings... Amy
