Avalanche of a Heart
(Avalanche of Heart's Desire)
Walked in this valley for such a long time
in contentment with silent resignation.
The mountainous life slopes ever in view;
of man’s visuals, I held marked reservations.
Plain of face, with life giving aged lines,
and now carrying an extra few pounds.
Man’s lofty ideas of a perfect woman
riding high while I strolled near the ground.
Then came a man sliding down a slope
His words enticing as an aurora sky.
The avalanche of my heart’s desire
seeing beauty where it once grew shy.
Taking my hand, with a show of strength,
He led me to a wondrous plateau.
He showed me sights so long unseen
that I forgot the lonely meadow below.
