A Rock, a Wave and Me

A rock I see, sat next to me Not unlike any other A rock so plain, yet beautiful A mirror of its brother And if I strain to see as far As these old eyes can see Perhaps I'll see the furthest rocks Just peeping back at me A wave rolls, breaking on the shore As its fellow waves before They ride the surfs wild horses Then deplete themselves once more A life spent short and shallow But a record still of time Unseen by none but me Unmarked by none but mine But mine alone to savour As I bask here in the sun And wonder at God's nature And it's beauties every one As I alone bare witness To the fruits of God's intention With Ink I mark this wondrous day Most worthy of attention
