A New Day
I awoke quickly nearing dawn
I jumped from bed to hurry on
I watched as sunstrokes soon were gone
leaving rosed paintings they had drawn.
On new day's path , I ran with glee
each moment a new mystery
breeze in my hair made me feel free
a Zepher perhaps I shall be
Akin to wind, I'll fly so far
and mingle with the morning star
I'll catch some sunbeams in a jar
to spill at dusk where shadows are
I need to gather the last light
before the day turns into night
