A Mothers Heart
What heart holds love most pure?
unasked for, freely given
flows eternally through our lives.
What heart holds pride shinning forth?
with loving eyes, beaming face
for each trivial task completed.
What heart holds gentle patience?
battered, long abused
lying wounded, yet never dies.
What heart holds deepest concern?
hidden, till slightest moan
sends it reeling to new extremes.
What heart holds hugs uncounted?
which from youth to old age
soothes our souls, warms our hearts.
What heart has the courage?
can do all this and more
a mother's heart for sure.
