A-Muse-Sing Contest
We may not have much time, you and I.
Life is like that,
always surprises.
So come with me into the night.
It is not too late to skinny dip in the moon,
and wash away the dreams that turned to dust.
Starlight turns back time,
like snow that never found its way to the ground.
I remember all of you,
the puppet of your body,
all the silver strings of your soul that move it,
that make it tremble with a joy too humble to flee in fear.
I remember the way your breath tries to free itself from your body, over and over,
the great barrel of your chest like a cannon,
shooting your breath into space,
again and again,
as it tries to touch the moon.
