Walking Amongst Giants
I'm walking amongst giants
Though tiny I may be.
Unlike the self I once was,
This does not intimidate me.
And how can this be so?
Well I realise after all,
That much can be admired
Even in the very small.
Notice how it lifts your spirits
When what suddenly catches your eye
Are the colours of the wild flowers
In the sun, when you walk by...
The mesmerising iridescence
On the wings of a butterfly...
The tranquility of the ducks and swans
When they elegantly glide by...
And what about the gift of sound?
The rejoicing felt in song?
The smallest acts of kindness
That carry us along?
Even giants take the time
To appreciate what they have.
I see their love, their sense of humour,
And they often make me laugh.
If we keep an open heart and mind
What inspiration we will find!
Be I small or weak or frail,
To learn I will not fail!
Now and then it's clear to see
These giants also learn from little me!
