~ The Magnificent Mouse ~ Fiction A minuscule, humble mouse wrote much poetry. Her eyes, so very tired, she almost could not see. Each day, mouse scribbled out her heart’s melodious song. For five years she did this, for hours, far, far too long!. Her poetry, she hoped, people would hopefully like. That was her mistake, this all too trusting, poet-tyke. She fell ill, quite weak and lost her will to write. She felt great peace now and bright, inner mouse might. Mouseland, her country, was made great fun of too. She was proud of that poetry land. under her sparkling, lyrical, shoes. So mouse gave up writing where her ideas were not wanted. In her new home, she was well read, accepted, and her joy was undaunted! 5/15/2024

Pangie, this is a great message. I also love to read what you do since it's straightforward and understandable. Your direct and allegorical style is wonderful. I'm going to have to visit your work any time I need to smile!!!

Hello Duje~ it’s a gift to have the courageoness ti be straightforward, babd it brings enemies to your gate, there is something built into humanity, they cannot stand honesty… They run from it, and from me. I’ve been going through this for years and it has been the prize of my life. Individual can be themselves full ou, yes, they get knocks on the head. They prefer to hide in groups. That’s OK., I am not here to be a Pulitzer Prize winner or impress anyone.. self expression for more. Taking on subjects that nobody will address.! I still have a lot of things I haven’t talked about in a poem.. I have to read you more often too., I sent in new genuineness and not just nice words, to get a comment back. That is so.Obnoxious. Pangie Romios.

Glad you enjoyed this Elens. Words on paper are not vecessariky pietry. Example,,,a shopping list. We piets all are from different parts of this worls with varied skill sets and time to write, i prefer simple poets who write from their hearts!! Intellectuality has never impressed me. I avoid “know it alls”..with all my heart. This includes any poet drunk on their own poetry. Thank you. Pangie Romios

LOL, Paula! I know how many years it takes to be a real author.I i am only half way there. Some poets here are terrific with kids poetry. I don’t have that skill set.My poetry is psycholigial, political and philosophical, some autbiograhical.I want no book, i have had fame in my life. It was great. Prefer to have a podcast. Thank you. Pangie Romios.

If the muse inspires you, read on. Never bother what others think. For soon you'll have a lock and it will take ages to regain the rapture of poetry.

Dear Pangie, this is such an endearing read. I love this dear, little mouse and can picture her. A magnificent mouse indeed with a brave, knowing heart full of integrity. I especially love the last stanza. Mouseland sounds a wonderful place to reside. There’s also an important message here too. She can share my cheese any time ! Really enjoyed reading this lovely poem. Have a wonderful weekend my dear friend. Hugs and blessings xx

Dear Christina, I hope that you are feeling well and are blessed with happiness.. and glad to hear you like this story. It really is simple yet carries a deep message ..She found herself.. We all find voices where we belong.. and avoid places we are not…If enemies are in the background.. dont stay at places like that. Go to Where you are loved for exactly who you are. That is the message as well.. great sseeing you. Thank you. Pangie Romios

Dear Pangie, The Magnificent Mouse is a wonderful reflection of resilience and acceptance. It's like a journey of self-discovery and finding peace amidst rejection. Through the trials of creativity and the longing for validation, the mouse's story is filled with the human experience of seeking belonging and embracing inner peace. Amen! - Blessings, Daniel

Dear Daniel. What a perfect description of the simple poem.. finding in her peace the real joy and self acceptance is the other part. Someone wants told me if we get validated you must validate yourself. When I heard that.. I got very angry. Because I star.Vef for validation. I know millions of people do my job in life is not to make people feel great.. the big part of growing up. We all do grow up one day, I hope.. never will and council validation. So painful.. Yes it could be in any fielsd, greatpiint. I realize some people really don’t give a hoot…they just go ahead and do their thing. She was a very, very sensitive mouse. But even if it wasn’t poetry, who wants to be around people who don’t like you? And purposely. Ignore you? I never do storytelling. I’m not sure that’s my thing.. I’m starting to sing straight journalism would work far better for me.. Ashim bless you and your family. May we all be safe and happy. Thank you. Pangie Romios

Hello Panagiota, The mouse enjoyed to create poetry. She should have kept on writing. Just for herself. Writing was her passion. I am glad she was accepted in her new home. Hugs. /Darlenexxx

Hello Panagiota, oh, in the story she gave up writing where her ideas were not wanted. I don't write each day. only when i get an idea. Then I write. Yes poetry is a discipline. I like to create my own poetry. Hugs. /Darlene/

In the story, she only gave up writing where her ideas were not wanted. I never said how long it for, save that as a poet, you need NOT write each dayTom’s Cunningham’s poems..that would take me far more than a day to write. There is no fast rule for anybody here how often to write.. no should . Yes, she was happier in her new home and in that atmosphere she felt freer It’s all up to you. Best to learn to learn classical forms. It gives structure to your poetry, I feel. Poetry is a discilpine, like learning to play the piano. Just banging on the keys is not poetry.. I am not near being a good poet. I tell it ….like it is. Pangie Romos

Dear Pangie, enjoyed your funny, yet serious mouse-poem. I was on a vacation to India for a few months, and were busy with a few projects in the language I grew up with. PoetrySoup is a site where you get connected with many poets and writers. I am not a competitive person too, you will not see many of my poems in the POTD list, but I feel good and confident if I myself am happy with the work. Love and Hugs, Dear Poet-friend. We will stay in touch, encourage and inspire each other.

This is a great story, and I'm packed and off to Mouseland. As long as it's not Disneyland. But I hope you keep writing on Poetry Soup because I enjoy reading your works. Lately, I have written a few poems that aren't for everyone. I'll throw a little sugar on other poems, so it evens out.

You are such a considerate person and the first to comment. Champagne in a crystal glass for you! Mouseland, lol, not Disneyland.Write to please you, not other poets. Being real counts most in all areas of life. It costs plenty. You might end up being a mouse with no cheese, but so what at least you have your integrity.I can’t imagine writing here to please the crowd. I won’t do that.I’m not conceited and You’ll never find me in acontest. Just how it is., I am not here to be better than anyone. If I can be me, that is the real trophy.. anyone who is real in life, shines for miles. We do read each other and I think that’s fantastic., I don’t want a fan club or a brass band.so if you find a friend hold on..I write plenty poems that irk people and that’s too bad. Being the real, you is the prize., don’t sell out! Pangie Romios.
