Starry Night
Starry Night
I gaze upon the starry night and sigh
A wonder of the world that fills my eyes
A canvas of the heavens in the sky
A masterpiece of nature's art and guise
The stars are like the jewels of a crown
That sparkle and adorn the dark blue dome
The moon is like a lantern shining down
That guides and cheers the lonely souls who roam
The clouds are like the waves of a sea
That flow and curl around the stars and moon
The wind is like a whisper of a plea
That sings and soothes the restless heart in tune
But oh, the starry night will soon be gone
The dawn will break and bring another day
The stars will fade and lose their brilliant tone
The moon will dim and hide its gentle ray
And I will mourn the loss of such a sight
That filled my soul with wonder and delight
