Secrets
Disclose the secrets that you hide in me
Whispered my heart
Lost in its own ecstasy
At what I was daring to write
In its daily diary
Disclose them,
Shout them out to the world
And let clouds gasp,
Let birds stop still in their flights,
Let trees shed their leaves,
Why,
Let your poetic self
Smile its usual mischievous self
At them all!
Secrets of love, secrets of feminine freedom,
Secrets of rights, secrets of affirming your power,
Of asserting your need for respect,
Even
Secrets of being able to live
As you would want to
Without fearing the opinions
Of those who have not in them
The flames of that mysterious candle
Which burns in you!
The beats of my heart
Bid me to blush, crimson red,
While listening to all this,
For secrets
Are meant to be kept hidden
As only such can allow their mystery
To unfold into yet untold stories!
