Is hip hop the place for a spat? Kendrick and Drake each see a rat For whom should we root? They're both rappers cute And fans will snap to the combat

Dear Duke, a great limerick poem explores the competition between two renowned rappers, Kendrick and Drake, and the predicament faced by their followers when it comes to choosing a side. Furthermore, it centers on the conjecture regarding which rapper followers ought to endorse in this dispute. The poem utilizes colloquial vocabulary and jargon commonly associated with hip-hop culture, including terms like "hip hop," "spat," "rat," and "snap." The inclusion of rhyming terms such as "rat" and "combat" imparts a lighthearted and whimsical atmosphere to the poem. The phrase "rappers cute" implies the affection that fans have for both Kendrick and Drake.

Ha!! I love this one!!! I prefer limericks like this than the political ones.. you love to make a mockery of these things and rightly so, as these guys do it themselves..

Thanks Karen, I saw this covered by the PBS news hour and was surprised by what I learned. Apparently, it's big news for those involved in this segment of the music business. Hope they don't take themselves too seriously!

Neat Vijay. There are a lot of different expressions of art and we certainly may enjoy them all at our leisure. What they are doing...the rivalry...has apparently been good for the business aspect of the music. Ahh show business.

Thanks Arthur, I read your recent work and I am struck by how much egotistical conduct and prejudice are behind our penchant for hurting people we don't know. At least these rappers are competing without violence (at least for now).

Cute one but I have no clue who these guys are. I don't listen to rap.

Andrea, I had briefly listened to Drake recently, as he is a Canadian rapper, and I was curious. However, I don't generally listen to rap either. PBS news hour did a story on this feud last night, which inspired this. The whole nature of the behavior involved does not inspire me. Some people love it though.

This is a splendid limerick. Evidently, music can make enemies, as it has happened before. A good point.

Thanks Hilda, apparently this feud has been going on for some time and is reflected in their music. There's really plenty of room for each to be a success, so I wonder about the egos involved.
