Raindrops
Pitter , patter drops of rain
after weeks and weeks have passed.
We thought you'd never come again
but here you are , now, at last.
Not enough to be of use,
though cooler air you brought along
and after all the sun's abuse
your pitter, patter is like a song.
A drop here, a drop there
but you do not quench, you only tease.
This tiny rainfall isn't fair.
We need a downpour if you please.
Rain, we beg you, stay awhile.
Make this parched land start to smile.
