Of Writing on Black and White
I could do black and let it be
tuxedos, black holes or the Black Sea.
I could do white for purity or
rice, eggs, golf balls, or heaven’s door.
Opposing principles clearly defined
express that black and white are not blended.
For people who think things are black and white only,
fences with neighbors might not get mended.
For my black and white, I will combine
those colors and get a sweet gray feline.
A neutral gray is what becomes
of mixing well both black and white.
If people did this, perhaps we could say
nobody’s all wrong or completely in the right.
