~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
O precious codex, how lovely thou art to me.
How do I pay homage to thee?
Flipping through your pages is an art, you see.
Sailing across oceans of clarity, together we're meant to be.
You’re a beacon, a reminder, of what I already know
Throughout my college years, I carried you in tow.
Finding the right words you showed me, making my writing flow.
Even now you help me with my creative mojo.
We’re celebrating our 54th anniversary.
Know I consider you more than just a piece of property.
With you I’ve learned the art of verbal diversity.
It’s you I consult when I edit and perform wordectomy.
A digital version there is of you, be forewarned.
You need not be so forlorn.
I prefer your pages, dusty, stained, tattered, and torn.
When it’s nuances I need, you outperform.
It’s hard to keep up with my writing pace.
You don’t complain, donning my writing days with wonder and grace.
I keep you close at hand in my writing space.
Know beyond a shadow of a doubt, you I'll never replace.
Here’s to you, my precious tome!
